When it comes to quests, WoW can get pretty repetitive. Kill ten of these, pick up twelve of those, go there and talk to that elf.
I think that's why I love this quest.
It's cute, it's different and it's fun.
The point of the quest is to rescue bear cubs. To do this you climb a tree, grab a bear, and save it by tossing it onto the trampoline. Needless to say, if you miss the trampoline, that one doesn't count.
It's not a new way of doing things, they just reworked the vehicle mechanic, but it's pretty original. Here's hoping we see more quests like this and less "Kill Ten of Those" quests.
I liked it so much that I made a video of it.

Rockin' in Blackrock
I wanted to make sure I had a video of Elite Tauren Chieftain before Cataclysm was released, because I'm not sure of the fate of Blackrock Mountain.
I was really slack, this is just raw footage. I'll get better, I promise. I'm just super busy at the moment.
This is the best reason to own the Direbrew remote ;)

Sleeper Cartel Summer Showdown '08
Went to the Sleeper Cartel Summer Party last night. I spent most of the time hanging out as Kirsa which was fun, but you missed all of the events. So, late into the party I switched to a level 1 pally and did a Hogger Raid, bobbed for apples, got some fun clothes, and just partied!
My little level one ended the night with 20 gold, a reindeer pet, and a tonk controller.
I was going to delete her, might have to rethink that :)
I didn't expect to spend so much time chasing Hogger during the raid or I would have gotten off the couch and gone to get my mouse :)

Vestment and Sandals of Summer
The Midsummer Fire Festival is over :(
I loved the quests, and between Keila and Kirsa I visited almost all of the fires. It was a great way to get XP.
The Fire Festival also has great rewards. Here Kirsa shows off the vestment and sandals. These are just cosmetic, but they are a lot of fun.
At first I thought the Brazier was the best reward, now I'm not so sure. These are pretty hot too!

Brazier of Dancing Flames
The Midsummer Fire Festival is in full swing and one of the items you can acquire is the Brazier of Dancing Flames.
If you /dance while you have the Brazier targeted, your toon becomes a flaming dancer also!
Here Kirsa turns into a fire dancer.

Epic Dolls Running of the Bulls
The Epic Dolls had a Level 1 Noob run to Orgrimmar last night. I'm really surprised I didn't die, though we did lose a few cows on the trip. I added a short (two minute) video of the event so you can get the idea of what this is like if you've never done one. The music is Rawhide by Riders in the Sky. Velanna suggested Chariots of Fire, but somehow this song just seemed to fit the silliness of the event :)

P.S. I edited and fixed all the things that bugged me :)

Soloing Mother Smolderweb
A while back I stumbled across Dianius's guide to Soloing Mother Smolderweb. I've been wanting to try this for a couple of reasons. I enjoy solo challenges and one of these days I'd like to get the complete Wildheart set. The wildheart boots can only be gotten from that big spider.
I finally got to attempt this, and like others before me, found the guide to be invaluable.
Only one thing has been changed since the guide was written. When you stealth past the orcs, the last group you come to, just before you head up the ramp to the spiders, have been moved around.
To stealth past the orcs stay to the left and pass through just to the right of the sleeping orc, and to the left of the one standing up. See that candle and the mushrooms on the left? You will go right over the top of the largest mushroom while sneaking between the two orcs. This is the trickiest part and I recommend following Dianius's stealth techniques while doing this.
Once I reached Mother Smolderweb I found the fight went exactly as planned, with a couple of advantages I discovered.
Being level 61 made the stealth part very easy and gave me a little more power in the battle. But the big advantage is the fact that I am a Moonkin. Balance has a huge advantage here. I was getting regular crits of 1500+ which is almost 3 times what Dianius was getting. This has a little to do with my level, but a lot to do with being a Boomkin.
Secondly, at the end of the battle Dianius describes it as a suicide mission. This is true unless you have the Treants. These guys are great for handling extra mob pulls and they help you defeat the four spawned spiders rather easily.
A word of warning. I thought it might be a good idea to wear Mother Smolderweb down a bit with the Treants. So in my first attempt I sent them after her at the beginning of the fight. All was going well until they pulled the roamers. Oops. That was a quick death. I recommend just hanging on to the trees until the end.
I had a lot of fun with this and I highly recommend it if you like solo challenges. I should mention I got the Wildheart Boots* on the second attempt so I was very lucky.

* No need to tell me the Wildheart Boots are already way below my level. I still want the set because of the look.

Eastern Plaguelands Ghostly Flight
While visiting all of the towers in Eastern Plaguelands I noticed the Plaguewood Tower had a flight master. Not a regular flight path but one that sends you on a one way trip to any of the other three towers. Plaguewood is the tower just southwest of Stratholme.
I took a short movie of the ghostly bird you fly on. I think this should be the flying mount for the undead.

Amnennar the Coldbringer
My friend Analar needed to complete the quest Bring the Light so I went along with him to Razorfen Downs to bring down Amnennar the Coldbringer.
Analar was able to get three useful blues out of this quick quest and we sent our friend Kalber a couple of good greens. Kalber get ready, you're next!

Frostwhisper Gorge
A Frostmaul Giant from Frostwhisper Gorge in Winterspring.
These guys have a pretty nasty reputation, especially if you have to enter their domain for a quest. At 60 I didn't find them all that tough, and I soloed the gorge a couple of times before I got bored and moved on.
This clip shows the Treants attacking the Giant first. Despite the whining that goes on in the official WOW forums, I find the Treants useful. They are a good first attack for an enemy that you need to wear down a bit before they turn on you. Not quite the tank that a pet can be, but pretty good nevertheless. Where they are really useful is when you get ambushed by multiple mobs. Setting the Treants loose is a good way to occupy one or two of the enemies while you prepare a defense. The negative side is, like the mechanical yeti or the Greench, they are not controllable. Therefore if you turn them loose in a crowded place, like an instance, you may regret it.
You will notice, if the mob hits really hard, they go down rather quickly. The first Treant in this video goes down after four or five hits, and the second follows soon after.

Winterspring Yeti
Fooling around with the Mac video capture and iMovie. No music or anything fancy in this one. We'll save that for next time.
Keila runs into an ice thistle yeti, ice thistle matriarch, and ice thistle patriarch in this short video.
I like the frost breath on the third yeti (Patriarch Yeti) that I encounter. That's a pretty cool spell.
