Better Stats, Ugly Armor

Sometimes you equip dropped armor because it has better stats than what you were wearing. This awful dress replaced my ripped pants, but thankfully the dress didn't last long.

In the Beginning

Armor at the beginning of the game is pretty shabby. Here is Keilakat back in the first few days after joining the game.

Love those worn out pants. This is a good reason to learn to make your own armor.

Pearl Diving

A few days ago while I was in the process of pearl hunting, and testing out my aquatic form, I started swimming farther and farther. The pearl hunt had been a bust, so I just decided to explore the ocean.

Anyway, without paying attention I swam past the Zoram Strand and kept going. Eventually you get to the point where to your left is nothing but impassable mountains. Occasionally you can go ashore into a small valley, but there are never any mobs, you are completely alone. This is a weakness of World of Warcraft in my opinion. Because these areas are time consuming to find, putting some kind of mobs in these valleys would add interest to the game. Some of them probably would have even been close to my current level.

Eventually I reached Sar'theris Strand which was out of my league. Before I knew it I was attacked by unseen creatures of the deep. They of course killed me off a couple of times before I made my escape. I'll try the giant clam hunt again sometime, but for now success at finding pearls using that method has eluded me.

There are big monsters under that water

That water is pretty muddy. Where's the crystal blue ocean?

Rest for the Weary

If you are going to sleep, it might as well be in a good bed.

Murlocs Suck

Since I was a new player I have hated Murlocs. They gave me grief in my first few days, so now I love to get revenge.

Spent time at the Murloc camp today doing just that. Left with tons of loot including four pearls. Rainbow dude, Mudkeep, ate sand more than once.

The Murloc Camp is Mine

The Forest Cat Joins World of Warcraft

This is my blog to document my time playing World of Warcraft.

This is my character Keilakat as she looks today. She's a level 17, Night Elf Druid.

In the picture she's wearing a Moonglow vest I made with the leatherworking skill.

She's standing on the bridge in Darnassus, in front of the bank.

BTW, I'm on the Bladefist server.

Entering the World

I've played MMPORGs in the past (Everquest Online), but I never advanced very far.

I recently started playing World of Warcraft and thought it might be interesting to document my time in the game, however long that lasts. I'll try to document the good and the bad, and even take some pictures along the way. No real hints or help here, just a diary of time spent in a virtual world.

Sometimes I feel like a tourist, taking pictures in front of landmarks.
